From school supplies to full scholarships, the Iyer Foundation runs programs designed to remove every barrier standing between a child and their education.
What we do
Our programs
School Essentials Program
No child should go without the basics.
We provide school bags, stationery, textbooks, and uniforms to children in under-resourced government schools across rural school in India. Every kit is tailored to the child's grade and school requirements.
Eligibility
Children enrolled in government primary or secondary schools in our partner districts.
How to apply
Applications are accepted through partner schools. Ask your school's headteacher to nominate eligible students.
Merit Scholarship
Rewarding effort, regardless of circumstance.
Annual scholarships awarded to students who demonstrate academic dedication despite difficult circumstances. Covers tuition fees for one full academic year and a laptop for college students.
Eligibility
Students in Classes 6–12 with strong attendance and academic performance, from families below the poverty line.
How to apply
Nominations open each April. Eligible candidates; shortlisted students are interviewed by our team.
Digital classroom Initiative
Visual aid for better learning
We set up a digital classroom and small libraries in schools that have none. Digital boards give a better understanding of topics ,libraries receives age-appropriate books
Eligibility
Government schools in rural areas with a student strength of 100 students, electricity connection and no existing library facility.
How to apply
Schools can apply directly through our contact form. We assess each application and prioritise schools with the greatest need.
Mid-Day Meal Support
A full stomach makes a better learner.
We supplement mid-day meal programmes in schools where funding gaps leave children with inadequate nutrition. Our support ensures children receive a balanced, nutritious meal every school day.
Eligibility
Government schools where the existing mid-day meal programme is underfunded or inconsistent.
How to apply
Identified through our field visits and partner NGO referrals. Schools can also reach out directly.
The process
How the application process works
School nominates
A teacher or headteacher identifies an eligible student or lack of facilities and submits a nomination through our partner school network.
We review
Our team reviews each nomination carefully, considering need, circumstance, and the child's commitment to learning.
We connect
Shortlisted schools/families are contacted directly. We visit where possible to understand the child's situation firsthand.
Support begins
Once confirmed, support is delivered directly to the school/child, whether that's a smart board,scholarship payment, a kit, or a library setup.
